What do you wear for english riding and where is the less expensive site to buy them from?

Do you ride in half chaps? Full chaps?

What kind of pants and shirts?

What kind of boots? Justin?

Also, while you tell me what you wear, can you tell me what price they were and where you got them from? I need to buy some for tomarrow!

I am also a women shoe size I think. I am size 5 anyway. And ride english.
Do you need chaps? And what are they for?

definitely half chaps. full chaps are for western. the half-chaps go over paddock boots, which can either lace up or zip up.

you can wear breeches or johdpurs (sp?) but if you’re only taking lessons for now then jeans are okay.

boots that are good are paddock boots with half-chaps, tall boots, or field boots. get boots that either lace or zip on the front of your foot. i got rubber tall boots that were great for everything except keeping my heels down. i’m definitely getting new ones!

i usually get my riding gear from statelinetack.com, but there are plenty of other places. you’re best bet for finding them cheap is to find a used tack store or website and buy things used. they are usually in great condition, awesome quality, and really cheap!

i suggest getting boots at least 1/2 size larger than your shoe size just in case. look for a sizing chart on the website.

    I ride in half chaps.
I ride in jeans, and a tshirt or a polo shirt
I ride in Ariat paddock boots

Well my parents got them for me, and I know they were expensive. They got them at a local tack shop for about $200 for boots and half chaps. I know that is ridiculous, but they’re good quality.

Go on yellow pages and search for: tack shops

English-style riding clothes are designed to be stylish and safe. Most important are boots with a low cut heel and a good helmet-approved safety helmet to be great lol. Long sleeved sweaters, polos, and tees are great for English-style. Jeans wouldn’t really fit into English; I’d perfer Jodhpurs instead. Jodhpur boots would be great too.

I guess it depends on what setting you’re riding in. If I go to a clinic or lesson or something, I typically will wear breeches, tucked in or slim fitting shirt, and either my tall black boots or paddock boots with half chaps, gloves, and helmet. If I’m just schooling, the people at my barn have seen me in any range of things :) [hey, if I can ride in shorts and a tank top and make it look good, so be it!] :)
